Margaret Beckett MP officially opens Synergy Health’s new head office in Derby

Local MP Margaret Beckett took time out of her schedule to open Synergy Health’s new head office as well as paying a visit to its Sterile Service facility at the Royal Derby Hospital, delivering services to the Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The visit was timely as the number of hospital acquired infections remains on the political agenda.

Margaret Beckett MP was invited by Adrian Coward, Chief Operating Officer, to open Synergy Health’s new office as well as to receive an exclusive behind the scenes tour, demonstrating Synergy’s reusable surgical instrument sterilisation services as a best practice benchmark for other hospitals and how this improves service and quality as well as significantly reduced operating costs.

Synergy Health is a global leader in specialist outsourced services to healthcare providers and provides vital surgical instrument sterilisation services that support the trust’s operating theatres and wards, as well as the overall clinical safety of the trust, the standards of which have a direct impact upon Margaret Beckett’s constituents in Derby South.

Margaret Beckett MP commented: "It gives me great pleasure to officially open Synergy Health's new office at the Wyvern Business Park in Derby. Furthermore, the opportunity to visit Synergy Health's facility at the Royal Derby Hospital gave me an insight into the services it delivers to the Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I was impressed that Synergy Health makes a great contribution both in terms of local jobs and to the National Health Service."

The hospital sterilisation service facility in Derby is vitally important to the health and cleanliness of the Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust,

Adrian Coward commented: “We are delighted that Margaret Beckett responded to our invitation to officially open our new head office at the Wyvern Business Park in Derby. The new site is testament to the growth of the company and points to an exciting future. Additionally, Ms Beckett’s tour of our facility at the Royal Derby Hospital allowed her to see what excellence in standards and facilities looks like behind the scenes. We feel very strongly that the cost savings demanded in the healthcare sector do not need to impact the standards of sterile services or compromise patient safety. We shall continue to invite interested parties for behind the scenes tours to ensure that quality, safety and value for money remains at the forefront of the healthcare agenda.”
