BERT - Bags for Endoscopic Retrieval of Tissue
The BERT family of Bags for the
Endoscopic Retrieval of
Tissue can prove invaluable in laparascopic
procedures of all types.
BERT products are double wrapped, easy to use with standard
endoscopic instrumentation requiring no special opening or closing
devices.
All the bags are
made from medical grade rip stop nylon, with a polyurethane finish
to aid smooth insertion and removal. The bags are all safeguarded
by X-Ray detectable thread.
The range consists of the following products:
-
Bert™ – a bag
originally designed for use during laparascopic cholecystectomies,
has been proven to be applicable for many other small tissue
removal procedures
-
Nubert™ - the leading
product within the range. An enhanced version of
Bert™, impervious with a refined shape for ease of
use
-
Nubert Plus™ –
an impervious bag with all features of Nubert™ but
with an extended tail for external location
-
Albert™ - a larger impervious bag to
accommodate a greater amount of tissue e.g. colon, ovaries, kidney
and liver, while still maintaining the simplicity of the original
concept
-
Hubert™ - the largest
of the range has a 2.5 litre capacity and is ideal for
resections of the spleen and uterus
Nubert™, Nubert Plus™,
Albert™ and Hubert™ have extra features.
These bags are lined with a polyurethane coating with welded
reinforced seams to render them impervious and to provide extra
strength. They are also issued with removable traceability labels
on the outer packaging as standard.
The BERT range of endoscopic tissue retrieval bags have all been
toxicologically tested to BS EN ISO 10993 (Biological Evaluation of
Medical Devices). This compliance ensures that there is minimum
risk of adverse reaction.
