Ethylene Oxide (EtO)

Ball-and-Stick Model of an Ethylene Oxide MoleculeThe treatment of medical devices by Ethylene Oxide (EtO) has been one of the principal methods of sterilisation in the healthcare industry since the introduction of the concept of single use, sterile, disposable medical devices in the 1960s.  The increased regulatory and environmental demands since that time have led to the process becoming increasingly sophisticated, which is evidenced by the increased complexity and technical demands of operating EtO plants.

Isotron currently has four sites with Ethylene Oxide plants, one in the UK, Ireland,  Malaysia and the Netherlands.  We are also able to offer a small volume bench-top processing service.  This is ideal for small, single carton requirements and where a rapid turnaround service is required.
