Workshop: Ethylene Oxide Processing

Thorne, UK
From Date:
Wednesday, 14 October, 2015
End Date:
Wednesday, 14 October, 2015

Brief synopsis: The treatment of medical devices by ethylene oxide (EO) has been one of the principal methods of sterilisation in the healthcare industry since the introduction of the concept of single use sterile disposable medical devices in the 1960s. Increased regulatory and environmental demands have lead to the process becoming increasingly sophisticated. This is mirrored by the increased complexity and technical demands experienced by operating an EO plant. Ensuring regulatory compliance when CE marking a device as sterile requires a high level of technical knowledge, the involvement of your manufacturing, QA/RA departments as well as your sterilisation provider.

This sterilisation workshop will provide a valuable overview of the available technologies as well as guidance on understanding the factors needed to take into account when considering sterilisation. It will also examine approaches for validating these processes to ISO Standards. Our courses are designed to give practical guidance to the participants and to explore new cycle design and regulatory requirements.
